OhioAngels.com founder and local venture capitalist joins established IT Consulting firm to be catalyst for growth and resource for local IT community.
Columbus, OH, August 2, 2001 - Applied Performance Technologies (APT), a Central Ohio based Information Technology consulting firm announced that Michael Mizesko has joined the firm as Principal.
Mike was most
recently President of OhioAngels.com, an internet-based venture
capital portal which introduced emerging technology firms across
the State of Ohio to Angel investors who bring needed capital and
experience to ventures. The
recent adverse conditions in the financial markets and lack of
available venture capital created an opportunity to attract Mike
to APT. He brings
with him a broad base of corporate, IT and entrepreneurial
experience.
Prior
to his role as Founder and President of OhioAngels.com, Mike was
an investment banker with Helston Capital, in Columbus, managing
private placements of capital and merger projects for many
privately held businesses in Central Ohio.
He started his career with Xerox Corporation in a
technology strategy role at their Headquarters.
His exposure to early personal computing, graphical user
interface design and touch screen technologies gave him early IT
experience, which he used to found an Inc. 500 company (currently
a division of Tyco International) which he grew with the help of
Angel investors. Mike
currently serves on the executive committee of the Columbus
Venture Network, an affiliate of the Greater Columbus Chamber of
Commerce, the planning committee of Innovest, an annual midwest
venture conference, and on the Advisory Board of Venture
Advantage, an initiative of the Columbus Technology Leadership
Council, Deloitte & Touche, and the Chamber. He also serves on
the boards of several privately held firms in Ohio.
He
joins Greg Huddle, Founder and President of Applied Performance,
and Courtland Bishop, Principal and Senior Vice President for
Applied Performance.
